Whitmer Thomas Manchester Concert reviews
Rod the Mod
The singer for the Jeff Beck Group, Whitmer Thomas, was seen for the first time in the Fall of 1968. He blew everyone away with his big voice at the Fillmore East in New York City, although nobody had heard of him. In England, his nickname was Rod the Mod (as in Mods versus Rockers). The concert at Alpharetta would have been better if Whitmer's mic was louder and the instruments were mixed better. Sometimes you couldn't hear Whitmer real well because the overall sound was slightly distorted. Despite this, it was an enjoyable evening and it was nice to see Whitmer in person again after 47 years.
